Welcome, all, to the Roleplay section of this site! We opened this as a way to allow people a chance to play around with writing styles, characters, and ideas while hopefully having some fun doing it. As always, we hope you have some fun here. And again, as usual, some rules apply...
~ Establish your character. You must post a character profile up on the Profile board to establish certain things about him/her/it/them. A basic template is posted up there for you to use.
~ Please stay in character on these boards. If you need to make notes OOC, please keep them brief and put them in italics before or after your post. Do not keep up an OOC conversation.
~ Keep with Tolkien: that means no "modern" swearing or slang, guns, other modern weapons, etc. Nice as it would be to set off a machine gun on the Pelennor, that's not happening.
~ Keep it polite; site rules apply.
~ Be reasonable; unless you are the epitome of evil forces or an established leader (Denethor, Theoden, etc.), you can't have an army. A legion or genuflecting, simpering sycophants, yes, but no army.
~ No auto - i.e. "I walked into a Council room and nodded to Elrond. Elrond smiled and came up to me." You are autoing Elrond; please don't do this unless the character doesn't exist in our current character list, in which case you may temporarily fill whatever positions you need.
~ Don't hit-kill. It's not possible unless you're the Witch-king. This means that you can't make one strike and kill someone.
~ Characters die. Fact of life. Please keep things clean and don't invoke bloody, gory violence without warning (alter the post title with "Mature Content"). Don't do it in excess, either - people get bored with it. And try to avoid resurrection...
~ Takes your hits. Don't argue for ten minutes OOC about how you just happened to duck out at the right moment and avoided that sword or punch. Hits happen. You get whacked on occasion. Move on.
~ If an established character isn't present, please don't do something to them... Unless, that is, you play that other character...
Thank you for your cooperation... Now start going!
