*~*~*~*~*
Hooves pound the turf, calls break the air,
Cedar swings backwards.
Beauty no longer really remembered,
But it rides unforgotten on shoulders of silk.
Loyalty - that carried war heroes home,
Broken, worn down, but still undefeated.
Pride, heads held high, a prance in the step
Dancing with danger in complete harmony.
Strength, and all heart, willing to go,
Giving their all as calls reach the field.
Beats fall, one to four, then that moment of freedom
Heedless of calls, oblivious to surroundings
Ignoring the truth of the life they return to for one blissful moment,
One with the movement, dancing with horses.
