Anyone heard of her? She's a fairly new singer, most famous, at this point, for the song "Breathe (2 AM)". It's not a remake of Faith Hill's, but it is a good song, and I like her - considering that I typically don't like contemporary music, that's saying something... I know most people don't pay attention to song titles, but here's her chorus for that song: 'Cause you can't jump the track; we're like cars on a cable, And life's like an hourglass glued to the table No one can find the rewind button, girl, So cradle your head in your hands, And breath.... just breathe... So yeah - if you haven't heard it, I suggest you try it at least once! ~ Elwen

Hey, another fan!
Yes, I do like Anna Nallick a lot-- in fact I heard that song before it was popular on some off-beat rock station, and when I showed it to my firends they thought I was nuts! (Shows what they know... ;-)) And although I do like that kind of music I usually can't stand female vocalists. The only other girl-singer band I like is Evanescence.
I know I sound like a hypocrite since I sing, but that's just my tastes. ;-)

Ah, well, us strange people with the rare good taste must stick together, yes? She took a while to become really popular, and even now, she's not too widely known, which surprises me somewhat. She's got a polished sound to her that I really like--on the other hand, I like female vocalists for the most part, so... And another Evanescence fan! (This coming from the person who hates metal, but... *sigh*) ~ Elwen

Yeah, I do like Evanescence--but not metal! She (whatever her names is) has an awesome voice.
In fact, I think some of the best (In my highly inexperienced opinion) secular vocalists are the leads from Seether, Stained, and Evanescence, and then Chad Kroeger from Nickelback. I don't like all their songs, but their voices sure rock.
In Christian music, which I listen to just as much, I'd have to say Mac Powell from Third Day. (As you can tell, I have a wide range of musical tastes.) ;-)
What does everyone else think?

Lead singer in Evanescence is Amy Lee, by the way, and yes, she's got an excellent voice (like Elwen, I hate metal, and it seems all three of us share that sentiment...)
I heard Anna Nalick's Breathe for the first time after a friend sent me her CD--I fell in love with her vocal skill. She actually has singing talent, with a strong voice that isn't overpowering, which is very, very refreshing for contemporary female singers, who too often come into the music industry with no voice training other than the self-induced singing-in-front-of-the-bathroom-mirror stage.

Nalick, like Eilian said, has talent, be it raw or trained, that sounds as though she's had training, and that's extremely nice to hear. Her range is good, as is her general vocalistic skill, which is very, very nice, and her lyrics are really symbolic. Random when you first hear them, but they actually mean something--certainly beats pointless lyrics about shoes... *shrugs*

I agree--her voice sounds very... refined. As for her lyrics, that's what first hooked me. I absolutely *love* deep lyrics, which is part of the reason all my friend thought I was nuts when I showed them that song. They *do* mean something, they just sound a bit odd at first. ;-)
